Attention Alumni Members…

 The Oregon FFA Alumni has been offered a great opportunity to show off our state.  National FFA Alumni is going to bring the 2007 State Leadership Conference here.  We are going to host the coference in Clackamas at The Monarch Hotel & Coference Center.

Starting Tuesday, July 10th through Saturday, July 14 we will be showing what Oregon has to offer. We will travel the Oregon Coast, Columbia Gorge, Timberline, the Willamitte Valley, and downtown Portland.We will be hearing from guest speakers and meet with other FFA Alumni from all over the US that share the same passion for the FFA that we do.

Motion to come before the annual meeting March 2006 for vote.
Passing this motion would be a by-law change.

The Motion:
Add two members to the FFA Alumni Council.
The first member would be a current retiring state officer.
The second member would be a state officer retired two years.

These positions will be appointed by the Alumni Council.

Just a reminder that the Oregon State Convention is in Bend, Oregon this year on March 24-27, 2006.

Don’t forget to bring an Affiliate Alumni Basket to be sold in our silent auction. The proceeds go to benefit students with things like scholarships for college and to attend Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, DC.

The winners of the “Mayor’s Choice” Award and the highest selling basket will each earn an FFA jacket that they can then award to a student of their choice. The Affiliate with the highest selling basket also earns the privilege of taking the lead for building the Oregon Alumni Basket for the 2006 National Convention, giving them the opportunity for a WLC Scholarship for their FFA Chapter.

Well we made it back from Nationals with some great awards! Our Oregon FFA Alumni Basket recieved the President’s Choice and sold in the silent auction for $475.00. With that we recieved two Scholarships to attend State Leaders Conference in Nashville, TN July 11-16th. Other awards were 2nd in percentage of membership with Oregon at 27% Alumni to Students and 2nd in percentage of growth for this we get a Blue Blazer.

FFA National Convention was alot of fun and we are looking forward to increaseing our membership for next year.

We need your Help!!! We are looking for items to put in our Oregon FFA Alumni Basket that we are taking to National Convention this year. Our theme “Made in Oregon”. We would like to have things that represent the state of Oregon from your area. Also, if your chapter has items such as t-shirts or hats that have the FFA or Alumni on them we would like to include those in the basket as well. If anyone is driving to National Convention this year and has room to take our Basket back with them please let Larry or Cindy know as well.

The Oregon FFA Alumni Leadership Camp scheduled for the weekend of September 16th has been CANCELLED.
